FRET COLONADE
Columns are ordered according to the relative spacing of a fret using equal temperament, thereby the distance between each one shortens exponentially. Count Basie said that it’s the notes that you don’t hear that are important, thereby the displaced columns interupt the rhythmic progression of the colonade and clearly indicate the entrance to the venue.  Columns then resume their staccato beat and sweep down the hill, delineating the field of view from within the building and screening traffic at the bus stop.
SHOEBOX AUDITORIUM
Rectilinear space proportioned as per the Golden Ratio affords good lateral reflection; predominately hard permanent surfaces maintain reveberation at all frequencies, oak veneer ply paneling is modulated to provide diffusion at mid and low frequencies; surface grooves diffuse high frequencies.
NATURAL DAYLIGHTING
As the soundhole in an acoustic guitar facilitates the dissemination of music so the lightwell created by the domed rooflight, the oculus and the glazed floor panel allows light to filter down through the circulation spaces.
